My name is Nithya Garg. I am a book mystic, former professional south asian classical dancer, and now English and History educator in the East Coast of Canada..
I have been a writer for longer than any of those titles, albeit one that has hid their work in piles of notebooks collecting dust. This is a space to share my commentary on literature, film, and other art mediums, and to document my emerging collection of writing.

This idea began with the premise that we all have books that are collecting dust in our shelves that we promise ourselves we’ll get to when we find the time. Whether this means showing up to your friends book club even if you’ve only read a page, picking up that book from the library, or finishing the latter half of a book that is collecting dust, I encourage everyone to re-engage in the practice of reading. Especially reading fiction, which I do believe is the window into collective consiousness.
In clearing the dust, I wanted to share my thoughts of books I love, books I’m currently reading, and other mediums of art that evoke a response in need of examination.
