IN MULTIPLICITY is a multimedia dance installation developed by Tanveer Alam and Nithya Garg exploring how the body can be situated in relation to each other, in contrast, in confluence, accessing each other and refracting away. We ask how the body can incrementally build from one point and in repetition- through gaze and through body.

This multimedia installation composed of projections of dance, mirrors, and an Indian classical sound score, invites audiences to consider how they continue to engage with digital dance offerings in the absence of live dancing bodies.

Nithya and Tanveer developed this project as a experimental response to creating dance artifacts during and post the pandemic. These challenges proposed a unique way of working, creating material separately, then finding ways to integrate them holistically within their respective forms of bharatanatyam and kathak.
